Remembering Pearl Harbor

Remembering Pearl Harbor

69 years ago 2,388 Americans died at Pearl Harbor pulling America straight into World War II.

“A date which will live in infamy.” Were President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s words during his address to America after the attack. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VqQAf74fsE]

Read the accounts of some survivors of that day- http://www.pearlharbor.org/eyewitness-accounts.asp

This account by Pvt. Joseph P. McDonald, he was manning the switchboard when a call came across that there was a large number of planes coming from the North. He was told not to worry about it. http://www.pearlharbor.org/eyewitnesses/mcdonald-account.asp

This day changed American History forever. No one was prepared for the devastating attack that took place on December 7th, 1941.

Here is a video of a few survivors returning to Pearl Harbor: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyoIpKGEw8M]

Thank you to those who served at Pearl Harbor 69 years ago, and to those who continue to serve our Country.
